Insurance & superbills

Do you take insurance in California and Florida?

We don’t accept insurance in California, but we do in Florida.

  • California: private pay, with an itemized superbill (CPT & ICD-10 codes) after every visit to submit to your PPO or through Reimbursify
  • Florida: insurance accepted; contact our office to verify your plan

Insurance & payment

Do you take insurance in California and Florida?

California: we do not accept insurance. Care is private pay (fee-for-service), and payment is due at each appointment. After every visit we give you an itemized superbill that you can submit to your PPO for out-of-network reimbursement, either directly or through Reimbursify. Many PPO plans include out-of-network mental health benefits.

Florida: yes, we accept insurance. Please contact our office before your first visit so we can verify your plan and benefits.

What is a superbill, and how does Reimbursify work?

A superbill is a detailed receipt with everything your insurer needs to process an out-of-network claim: provider NPI and license numbers, dates of service, procedure (CPT) codes and diagnosis (ICD-10) codes.

You can upload it to your insurer’s member portal, or use the Reimbursify app to photograph it and file the claim electronically in about a minute.

Why is care private pay in California?

Private pay keeps your diagnosis between you and your provider, lets us offer full-length visits, and avoids insurance denials for medications or testing you need.

Can I get a Good Faith Estimate?

Yes. Under the No Surprises Act, if you are uninsured or not using insurance you have the right to a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges. Ask our office when you schedule.

Telehealth & eligibility

Who can become a patient?

We see adults 18 and older who are physically located in California or Florida at the time of each appointment. Care is entirely virtual.

You’ll need a phone, tablet or computer with a camera, microphone and a stable internet connection, and the ability to use our online patient portal.

What is telepsychiatry, and is it secure?

Telepsychiatry is psychiatric care (consultations, assessments, follow-ups and medication management) delivered by live video. You can join from home, work or anywhere private.

Our video platform and patient portal are HIPAA-compliant and encrypted, and sessions are not recorded.

How do I access the client portal?

Existing patients can view appointments, complete forms, message the office and manage billing in our AdvancedMD portal. Use the Client Portal button at the top right of every page, or go directly to the patient portal login.

Assessments & treatment

What does the comprehensive assessment screen for?

After your initial consultation, our comprehensive assessment screens for more than 50 psychiatric conditions, including depression, anxiety, panic, OCD, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD and sleep problems. You complete validated questionnaires securely online, and your provider reviews the results with you to build your diagnosis and treatment plan, including medication management when appropriate.

How does virtual ADHD testing work?

It starts with a diagnostic video consultation plus validated questionnaires you complete securely online.

Your provider reviews your developmental history, school or work challenges, attention and mood, and rules out look-alikes such as thyroid problems or anxiety. You then receive a diagnostic summary and a personalized plan.

Can medications be prescribed through video visits?

Yes. If medication is appropriate after your evaluation, your nurse practitioner can send the prescription electronically to your local or mail-order pharmacy. Prescribing follows all state and federal telehealth rules, and regular follow-ups are required for refills.

Do you provide accommodation letters for ADHD?

Yes. After a formal ADHD evaluation and established care, we can prepare documentation for college disability offices, standardized exams (such as the GRE, MCAT or LSAT) and workplace accommodations under the ADA.

Appointments & policies

Established patients can request a refill through our contact form (choose “Medication refill”) or by calling (626) 600-8543.
